Sketch Comedy

It's an interesting period in my lifetime. I'm going through Chappelle Show withdrawl (something watching season 3 can cure instantly). Instead, since I don't have anything pressing to get to in the mornings, I've found myself staying up until midnight to watch In Living Color (ILC).

Some of you may not realize how ridiculously awesome and cutting edge this show was. It's no wonder the Wayans Brothers have no trouble finding work, even if they suck now.

Anyway, it's encouraged me to slap together a quick list of the greatest sketch characters of all time. No particular order, but In Living Color definitely controls a good portion of the list. Feel free to add your own, if anyone still reads this shit.

  • Homey D. Clown (ILC)
  • Fire Marshal Bill (ILC)
  • Silky Johnson (Chappelle)
  • Tyrone Biggums (Chappelle)
  • Darill (Kids in the Hall)
  • Tracy Ullman in general
  • Chicken Lady (Kids)
  • The Brothers Brothers (ILC)
  • Wanda (Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey)
  • Handi Man (ILC)--I've seen few sketches more inappropriate.
Some Saturday Night Live love...from when they deserved it.
  • Land Shark
  • Nat X
  • Buckwheat
  • Gumby
  • Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood (thanks Dave)

oh yeah, if you ever read my blog again, youèll see why I have major spelling mishaps going on...have no apostophe thing happening (which is why there is an ès after Farley )or question marks...they look like this ÉÉÉÉÉ and when I use slashes they look like thisÀÀÀÀÀ.

I am trying to get used to my stupid new computer and forget to proofread is all....

I agree with Kids in the Hall, Monty Python's Flying Circus, In Living Color, SNL, and The Tracy Ullman Show...

but how could you all forget one of the longest running sktech comedies on television, C-SPAN?
