Those Whacky Brits...

I think it's really commendable that Prince Harry wants to go fight by his people in Iraq. Unlike some world leaders (ahem) who danced around active duty, Harry is insisting on front line deployment. It speaks volumes about his charisma and bravery.

It's too bad that the media, here and otherwise, is hell-bent on continuing it's long, proud tradition of ignorance and stupidity. The other night, I heard when he would be deployed, to which city, and a rough estimate of how well defended the heir to the throne would be.

If our opposition wants to, it won't be very difficult to capture and/or kill him. Here's my wager:

Harry will be captured this summer. England will buckle to every demand they make to ensure his safe return, including a full withdrawal. Once they've bled everything they can out of England, they'll make similar demands of the United States. Bush, naturally, will refuse, spouting off some nonsense about not negotiating with terrorists (we do, by the way, just not when someone important to another country is involved), at which point Harry will be killed and the video will circulate around the internet.

Call me a pessimist.

The media just really bothers me, ellie. Keep in mind that I'm a pacifist, and as such, think war in general is retarded. It might have been useful at one point, but we claim to be civilized now.

I can't help but think of the questions they were asking General Norman S. (don't ask me to spell it) during Operation Desert Storm:

"So do you have any secret missions or operations that you can brief us on?"

"uh, no. Then they wouldn't be secret...."
