Attention PUMA Democrats

You're idiots. All of you. Seriously.

I hope some of you show up to this blog, and leave a thoughtful, logical, lucid explanation on why you're voting for McCain. I have no beef with you if you're voting third party. I'm talking about you idiots that plan on voting for McCain, or writing in Hillary Clinton.

You donkeys are the ones who conceivably could give the W to McCain. Let's break this down real quick:

Hillary is for abortion rights, health care for everyone, equal pay for equal work, ending corporate tax breaks, cutting taxes for the middle and lower classes, and ending the war in Iraq. That more or less sums up three things:

  1. The top of every democrat's wish list in a leader
  2. The goals of Barack Obama and Joe Biden
  3. Everything John McCain is against
Ever hear of the expression "cut off your nose to spite your face?"

I challenge you to explain why you plan on voting for McCain this fall. This is for Hillary supporters only--republicans can feel free to email me their views on why I should. Posts of that nature will be removed. At the end of the day, there can be ONLY three reasons why, as a democrat, you would choose McCain over Obama:

  1. you're really a confused republican that does not share the core values of democrats
  2. you're really stupid
  3. you're really a racist, and you need to come to terms with that

Welcome back, and way to post something requiring me to rant.

I'm not a republican. I'm not a democrat. I guess I'm a libertarian, but those dooshes can't get a handle on foreign policy.

My problem with both parties is that neither of the groups of idiots will stop pissing money away. Not one candidate even remotely addresses the deficit or the national debt. Further, they ignore the 800 pound gorillas in the room that are medicare, medicaid and social security, but I'll get back to that.

You mention cutting taxes for the middle and lower class. The lower class don't pay shit in taxes now and, in most cases, get money back for nothing (earned income tax credit, baby deduction, etc). you can't make zero lower, so all that is is another way of saying more taxes for productive citizens.

Back to the real issue. The bottom line is that our economy, country and way of life are in danger due to our fiscal issues. To fully fund SS, medicare and medicaid in perpetuity would cost around 100 trillion dollars (got this from the president of the Dallas Federal Reserve) adn the GDP of the US is 13 trillion total.

The time has come for hard choices and belt tightening by everyone. Lower taxes solve nothing, and rampant spending doesn't solve anything either. The time is now to elect someone that can and will make hard decisions so our society can be saved.

I read a great quote yesterday. It said:

"Each of the great civilizations in the world passed through a series of stages from their birth to their decline to their death. Historians have listed these in ten stages:

Bondage to spiritual faith, to great courage to liberty, to abundance to selfishness, to complacency to apathy, to moral decay to dependence, and back to bondage.

Where do you think we are as a civilization now?

Hey stranger! :) You've made me believe in blogging again.. I think I'll make a comeback in the near future.. :D

My son graduated. Thanks for asking. :) All is whipped cream and licorice whips in the world I call my own. Oooh. I like that. I might use it again some day. Like .. tomorrow.. if I post on my blog. :D

Love to you and yours from me and mine...

Oh, and pee ess (huhu - I said "pee") - I'm Canadian, so your election only means as much as who's ass my Prime Minister will be smoochin'. I'm hoping it's Obama's. It seems much more rounder and firmer than McCain's. Besides.. up here, McCain's is a company that makes french fries.. and they're not even that great.

Functionally Retodded---I need your email again sometime. Mine is listed here, so feel free to contact me that way. I think we'd have some nice political discussions.

Couple of things I want to say about your rant :-):

1) In regards to giving to the poor for contributing little or nothing. There's a pretty hearty block of them that contributes plenty for little money. I don't mind helping them make the leap to lower middle, or even middle class. As for the rest of them, there is a reason why they are poor, and not working is only part of it. They are the ultimate consumers, so I trust that cash would circulate right back anyway. At least some of it would filter through the middle class on the way back to the top.

2) I absolutely agree with you about our fiscal irresponsibility dating back to Reagan and his functionally retodded war on drugs. I was sorta hoping Ron Paul would make a bigger push in the primaries, but he's a little crazy. Ok, a lot crazy. But fiscally, he's spot on.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with your first comment, directly or indirectly. It's the two party system. Why must it be one or the other? Why have a primary system at all? Why can't we have 20 candidates, and may the best two win. Candidate with the most votes gets the presidency, candidate with the second most votes gets the Vice Presidency.

The pipe dream here is it's going to take a long, long, time to break down the two established parties. They both need to go, however.

Ouch, stirring the pot! What a way to make a comeback;-)

I can honestly say that I do have a lot of respect for McCain. He seems intelligent and really does sound like he has a grasp for what is happening in the real world. However, he does stand for everything I think we need to get away from in this country. We need change and I don't mean that as a cliche. I think Obama has the ability and foresight to bring about that change. Or at least to start a change. Or so I hope.

Can anyone really do worse than King George W? I have to keep telling myself that in case McCain wins. Sorry, what I mean is, I agree with you! I'm rambling.

I subscribe to the theory that McCain has traded his maverick ways for toting the party line. When that happens, I tend to lose respect for a candidate. I also firmly believe he's too old for office. There's a reason why we have a retirement age. He already seems forgetful to me.

All that said, I'm tremendously relieved he isn't George Bush. His voting record indicates he'll be 10% better. I'll take any improvement, but I'd prefer a dramatic one.

In other unrelated news, I posted this blog on several PUMA websites challenging any of them to articulately defend their position. Guess how many showed up. Perhaps they at least understand their feelings aren't rational. It's a start.

Howdy, there! Glad you remembered me, and nice to have you stop by.

I'm a hardcore Obamaite, so I don't really have much to say on this topic... except dear-god-please don't vote for McCain. Please. I'd have to cut some fingers off to dodge the draft.
